The Garden of Ireland Vintage Car Club (GOIVCC) is regarded as one of North Wicklow’s premier club’s. Club members are as diverse as their motor cars, they come from all walks of life and a broad range of ages. They share one thing in common an enthusiasm for the cars and a commitment to sharing the enjoyment of using them.
There are many advantages to joining the GOIVCC; they provide a great way to meet and talk with people who share similar interests as well as to learn more about things like classic car maintenance and refurbishment.
The Club meets on the third Monday of each month at the Grove Bar, Kilpedder, Co. Wicklow. Monthly club runs are organised as well as attending other club runs around the country. The Club organises and run two major events each year, The Liam Kelly Memorial Garden of Ireland Run which takes place on the first weekend in September attracting up to one hundred cars and The Tom Kennedy Memorial static show where up two hundred vehicles are on display. All proceeds from this event goes to charity and has to date raised in excess of €19,000.
Ownership of a vehicle is not a criteria for membership thus enabling members to purchase or dispose of vehicles as they wish, it also enables the less experienced to access the type or standard of vehicle most suitable for themselves before committing to making a purchase.
